Description: Antique French Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Napkin Ring, Mistletoe, Charles Murat This exquisite antique French sterling silver napkin ring is beautifully designed in relief with a pattern of mistletoe, a typical motif of the Art Nouveau period. It is engraved with an inscription from the grandparents to their grandson,“Souvenir de Bon Papa et de Bonne Maman de Lancey, à Jacques”. It bears the French “Minerve Premier Titre” hallmark indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The Minerve Premier Titre is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark of Charles Murat, master silversmith in Paris between from 1897 and located in the rue des Archives. The maker’s mark consists of the initials “C.M.” surrounding the image of a blackberry flower. This napkin ring is in excellent condition with the exception of faint scratches due to age and normal use. It will be a prestigious addition to your collection.
