Description: Up for your consideration is this OUTSTANDING antique Georgian coral necklace! It is made up of a graduated strand of RICH SALMON colored natural Mediterranean coral beads. These beads are carved in the nesting "bone" shape, the ends of which are beautifully and expertly carved. This is a very rare and seldom seen shape for coral beads, and these beads are all hand cut. They graduate from approximately 5mm X 9mm, up to 8mm X 14.5mm at the largest bead! The color of this coral is very saturated (though not quite as bright as they appear in the photos), and is 100% natural and not treated in any way. These beads have a lovely surface, and are of the very highest quality. This necklace is finished with a yellow gold repousse worked ornate clasp, and measures approximately 18" long in overall wearable length. The clasp measures 21mm long, by 9mm wide, and 7mm thick. This necklace weighs a total of 51.4 grams on my digital scale, and is in EXCEPTIONAL antique condition! The clasp is not hallmarked (typical of genuine Georgian jewelry).
