Description: Antique German Doll believed to have been made in 1903 by Schoenau & Hoffmeister with the Child Dolly Face Mold 5500-8. Schoenau & Hoffmeister Character Doll, 24" tall, bisque socket head, jointed composition body, Mohair wig, rounded sleep eyes, painted brows, open mouth with 4 teeth. The composition body has 10 joints with wooden forearms and legs. This doll is marked on the back of her head with a five-pointed star and S and H on either side with a PB in the center of the star. This stands for Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, the name of the German factory in Burggrub. The doll is in very good condition for her age, comes with her original shoes but one is missing a buckle. The crocheted headpiece appears to be original, the dress may or may not be original, but both are very old.
