Description: Antique 1800's German Porcelain "Candle Stick??" Child Figurine wearing a "Sailor Suit" Circa 1870 - Rudolstadt "R" Mark This auction is for a very fine, antique, German porcelain figurine. It depicts a child holding a cornucopia laying in a leaf. This is an early piece executed in great detail & realistic colors. It measures 5 1/2" x 4 x 4.5" inches all around. Identified underneath with the maker's mark "R". It is in great condition for its age, with no cracks, repairs or overpainting. There seems to be a"chip" on the leaf but not sure if it is a manufacturing or glazing flaw and what seems to be a chip at the very tip of the leaf but again not sure if it is from manufacturing as there is pink paint covering it. The piece is quite dense and heavy and weighs almost a full pound.
