Description: Here we have a 19th century collection of Classically-themed plaster intaglio casts. Made by Paoletti Impronte in Rome circa 1800-1850 for sale to Europeans undertaking the Grand Tour. Mounted and bound in a double-sided book-like box entitled MUSEI DIVERSI. Label with Z. Chandler to lower left of inside front cover. The collection contains 33 white plaster casts of varying sizes ranging from 18mm to 70 mm, each depicting a classical-style bust, ancient historical personages, or classical scenes. The inside cover front and back bear a listing of each depiction hand-annotated in Italian. All of the castings have metal frames and only one shows some minor damage (see photos). The cover is tight and solid but shows minor wear commensurate with age. Shipping weight, well packed, is 2 1/2 lbs. Insurance has been added to the shipping cost as per Ebay's mandate.
