Description: A stunning chocolate pot by Josef Riedl, featuring a classical scene and intricately decorated in dark maroon red and gold. The pot was made in Austria between 1890 to 1910 and is marked on the base with a Royal Vienna mark attributed to Josef Riedl. The classical Greek picture of four women is a transfer print on porcelain, and the maroon and gold ornament is hand painted.The lid handle is chipped - please see pictures. There is also some expected age-related wear to the gold gilt, but the colors are still incredibly vivid.Measurements:Total height (from bottom to top of the lid): 5.5" (14 cm).
