Description: Antique Large P W & Co. Washington Vase Mulberry Black Transferware Platter/ circa 1834-1854, Grandmillennial/ Platters An absolutely beautiful antique mulberry/black transferware platter. It was made by Podmore Walker & Co in England, estimated between 1834-1854. Podmore Walker & Co. later became Wedgewood. This is the Washington Vase pattern and features a large landscape scene at the center surrounded by a patterned rim featuring 6 small panels. The platter measures approximately 13 5/8" by 10 1/2". The rectangular shape is accented with a lobbed edge. Please note that this piece is crazed on front and back. Platter also has small glaze marks on front rim, top center. left and right bottom corners. The back of platter staining marks, crazing and marks in glaze - see pictures. The design is not sharp and has faded over time. Still an amazing piece for its age.
