Description: Jug was used at a distillery in New Jersey, but the marks on the bottom indicate that the pot was made in Akron, Ohio. There is typical crazing and some glaze inconsistencies that come with antique primitive pottery, but the jug is structurally sound. I do not see any cracks. There is a small chip on the base rim, and a pock mark above the “L” in the lettering. The jug seems to be empty, but I did not attempt to remove it. Approximate dimensions: 9.25” tall, 5.5” base diameter, and the opening is a little less than 1” in diameter. The Lederer Brothers retailers seem to have opened in 1894, and closed before too long, so that is a pretty good date of attribution for this jug. See the photos for details and condition.
