Description: Walter Scott Lenox opened the Ceramic Art Company. 1910 Lenox produced his first dinnerware in Belleek, a cream-colored clay producing ornate designs with sterling silver inlay. Lenox used electric motors, air compressors, electromagnets and conveyor tables to advantage to accomplish the manufacture of Belleek white-ware. Feldspar, several types of clay and flint were the primary ingredients of the white-ware bodies, not bone chinaAmerican, or Lenox, Belleek, a successful imitation that developed its own warm and restrained perfection, was initiated by Walter Scott Lenox in about 1889 at the Ceramic Art Company and has been made by Lenox, Inc., since 1906.This is a RARE antique and part of an elegant era!
