Description: This is a listing for an Antique / Vintage Lyon & Healy COUTURIER Model Alto Saxophone with Hard Case. This instrument is serial # 14233 which I believe makes it from the 1920's era. This saxophone is the Couturier model and is in used fair / good overall condition with it's hard case. The bell shows a floral pattern engraving on the front of the instrument. There are no dents in the body or the bell that I have noticed. The entire instrument will need service and a good polish / clean up. I would say the pads look like they will definitely need to be replaced and it looks like something got dripped down into the bell and hardened over time. I would think with some effort and maybe a razor blade it could be cleaned off. There is no mouthpiece included with this instrument. What you see in our pictures is all that is included. The original case is in fair condition, showing some definite signs of age, use and storage wear both inside and out. Case still has both handles and both latch closures. However only the right side latch closure seems to catch and still pop open with the button. Body of case shows definite signs of wear and tear. Inside of case shows some dirt and smells a bit musty. This is still a rare and desirable model of saxophone that with a little work would make a fine additional to any collection. Selling it all AS IS. Please see our pictures for full details.
