Description: Antique Mahogany Small Chiming Mantel / Bracket Clock By Halford & Sons London. This stunning antique mantel clock has a mahogany case with a lovely rich colour and grain. The top of the case is then shaped with a brass finial and divider to the top as well as four brass finials to each corner. There is then a moulding leading to the body of the case which has a bevelled glass panel to the front, back, and sides. The front corners of the case are also shaped and have two beautiful brass columns. The base of the case is then shaped in a series of stepped out mouldings and is finished by four brass feet. The dial is then silvered and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The surrounding of the dial then has stunning, scrolling engravings. The dial then has two lovely shaped hands and a silvered, bevelled surround. Finally the dial is signed by the maker “R.H. HALFORD & SONS LONDON”. The movement is then both signed and accessed via the back. The clock ticks away as it should and strikes both once on the half past as well as the number of hours on the hour via a gong. The movement also comes complete with its double ended winding key. It measures approximately: - 12” / 30.5cm Tall. - 8.5” / 21.5cm Wide. - 5.75” / 14.5cm Deep.
