Gray metal with bronze finish. Beautiful verdigris patina. Measures 7" 1/2 high x 5-1/2" wide x 6" deep. Weighs 6-1/2 lbs. Inscription reads: "Buddy, the original seeing eye dog for the blind, McClelland Barclay." This German Shepherd was the first dog trained by The Seeing Eye, Inc. of Morristown, NJ in 1929. (As the story goes, Buddy was actually a female dog whose real name was Kiss . But the blind gentlemen who trained with her had issues with a dog he had to call Kiss . So he renamed her Buddy.)
