Description: Selling here what I believe is an antique from around the 1920s - it's difficult to find any specific information on the internet as there is no manufacturer information visible on the box and I didn't want to take it to bits in case I damage it as it's been assembled with very old craft techniques and not easily 'fiddlable'!... So I think this is a Melodeon (or Melodian depending on your preference) - a type of squeezebox / accordian... The bellows seem fine, it makes a sound on the left buttons for chords/bass and the keys on the right all open the valves and play notes - EXCEPT for the lowest key which makes no sound - I'm of the opinion this is just in need of a 'valve plate' or 'reed' replacement behind the key to get it working, but can't guarantee it - as I say, there is very little information on how to fix or disassemble these so I didn't want to start messing about with it as it's quite specialist.... there is information out there on youtube if you're inclined though. So given that it's a nice object and around 95% working, I'm listing it accordingly in the hope of attracting some interest. Hope you fancy a bid or make me an offer I can't refuse!
