Description: A scarce oil portrait painting on canvas of Austrian Emperor King Ferdinand I, circa 1835. The painting depicts Ferdinand as a handsome young man being recently crowned. He has a very interesting personality and history as Emperor! The painting is very well rendered, it is very likely done by a listed artist…more research should reveal who. Overall it is in good condition for age and the painting has been cleaned, relined, and having some small areas of scattered in painting. There is toning throughout, light craquelure, a few small marks mainly on left side a pictured, etc. It is housed in a contemporary gilt frame which is in very good condition with a few small areas of wear/loss.
