Description: I started collecting early American antiques in 1987 and this was one of my first purchases. It is a handmade American yarn winder in Robin's egg blue. I believe the paint is original as it shows wear where you'd expect it, but I am not an expert. I did buy it at from a dealer at a reputable antique show. The joints are mortise and tenoned. It has been in a few moves and somehow, along the way, one of the attachments at the end of one of the arms is missing. I always loved this, but our place is too small to hold on to it any longer. The price reflects the missing piece. ALSO, Please Note the Shipping Costs. When I first listed this, the shipping price was automatically populated, and it didn't update, so it was very underestimated. I have listed 2 shipping options as it turns out Fed Ex ground is less than USPS ground advantage. I have priced this simply to cover the cost of a box and packing material; not trying to make $ here, just hoping someone who loves genuine American primitive antiques will enjoy it.
