Here is a nice looking hour and half hour gonging mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company in Thomaston, Conn., USA, nearly 100 years ago. This model features a signed Seth Thomas #89 movement which has been cleaned and serviced and is in good running and gonging order. It counts out each hour, i.e. 1 chime at 1:00, 2 chimes at 2:00, etc., on a single chime rod and announces each half hour with a single toll. The case is in nice condition. It is still in the original finish, showing only the normal signs of wear associated with age, and long term use. The solid brass bezel and silvered dial assembly is very nice looking. It silvered dial shows some age and wear, especially around the winding arbors, but in good shape for its age. The case measures 17" wide x 9 ½" high x 6 ½" deep. This is a clock that can be enjoyed by the whole family now, and then handed down later for future generations to enjoy. It comes complete with the pendulum and a key that fits.
