Antique Steamer Trunk Flat Top MANDEL BROTHERS CHICAGO Chest

Description: I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s Flat Top Trunk with name tag Mandel Brothers - Chicago , which I believe was a department store not the manufacturer. Its in great shape, much nicer than what you normally find when it comes to antique trunks. It has oak or ask slats and brownish colored canvas covering. The finish on the slats is excellent and the canvas is in really nice shape as well. Not that there isn't any wear ,its that the wear is very light. It measures roughly 35-1/2" wide, 20-5/8" deep, and 22-1/8" tall - weighs approx 44 lbs as you see it. These are obviously outside measurements. Comes with the inner tray/ box - the right side is missing the lid. The trunk is super clean , all original , and is Estate Fresh. It must have been stored in a dry area as the bottom is in fantastic shape with no rust to speak of. It does not have any castors or rollers, it was made without them - was meant to simply slide on the metal parts of the base. This is a very old used item , not perfect - it has some normal minor imperfections. View each and every pic - make your own assessments. The trunk is available for Local Pickup but only if you can actually either pick it up yourself or facilitate pickup on your dime. Also it must align with my schedule or not at all. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics. IN THE RARE EVENT YOU RECEIVED THE ITEM AND IT IS DAMAGED -CONTACT ME ASAP - KEEP THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING MATERIALS JUST AS THE ITEM ARRIVED AS THEY WOULD BE NEEDED TO HELP PROCESS THE INSURANCE CLAIM. YOU WOULD BE REQUIRED TO HELP WITH THE INSURANCE CLAIM . SAVE THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING ,PICS OF THE OUTER BOX AND INNER BOX , AND OF THE DAMAGED ITEM WOULD BE REQUIRED. WITHOUT THESE PICS, YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND IF I CAN NOT PROCESS THE CLAIM - YOUR HELP IS REQUIRED. THIS IS PART OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT COMES TO DAMAGE.
