Description: ANTIQUE THE LICKING COUNTY BUILDING AND SAVINGS CO. NEWARK, OHIO SMALL BRASS OVAL SAVINGS BANK WITH HANDLE This is an antique brass with steel bottom constructed oval shaped savings bank from the early 1900's probably. This bank advertises on a tag on the front for "The Licking County Building and Savings Co. 374 Newark, Ohio". Bank has a handle on the top and slot on the top also for the coins. There is a hole on the side to put your paper currency in as well. The bottom of the Bank is marked, "The Portable Safe" and was manufactured by the Automatic Recording Safe Co. out of Chicago. We don't have the key for opening it though. Bank is in good condition overall for its age with some natural wear present. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Measures almost 2.5" tall by 3.5" wide by just over 1.5" thick.Wonderful old small brass savings bank from Ohio would be a great find for your collection. Don't miss it.
