Description: Description: A faience tile decorated with a beautiful hand painted bird made by Creil et Montereau, France. In used condition, please see the photographs and the detailed description of condition below. Identifying Marks / Makers Marks: Marked on the reverse as shown in the photographs. Age / date of manufacture:Produced between 1886 and 1920. Size: Measures 7 7/8" (20 cm) square and is 3/8" (1 cm) thick. Condition:In good antique used condition with no cracks. Has chips to the bottom left corner. Has some small nibbles to the glaze on the front edge of the tile. Has some crazing visible on the grey background. Has some small unglazed spots. Painted decoration has some wear and a few fine scratches. The top right corner has discoloured, it looks like it has got too hot when fired. Please see images above.
