Description: This is the Base of an Antique Sad Iron Base, No. 8, Made by A. C. Williams Company, Ravenna, Ohio. Someone tole painted the base with floral motif, to re-purpose it as a doorstop. It looks to me like the painting might have been done quite some years ago, but I do not know specifically when.The large iron base is about 6 1/4" long and it weighs just over five pounds, so it should work well as a doorstop.At the time of the original listing, this was one of two listings being added for antique flat irons, purchased from the same source.Condition The base itself is in excellent condition. The paint is in good condition with the exception of some light to moderate wear on the top outer edges, the inner upper edges, and there is also heavy wear and scratching of the paint on the bottom.
