Description: Antique Victorian Hand Painted Hand Blown Glass Carafe And 4 Glasses Set Flaw Pitcher - just under 5” x 5” x 10 6/8” Glasses 2 5/8” x 2 5/8” x 4 5/8” 2 lb 7.8 oz Gorgeous hand blown carafe/pitcher and drinking glasses set. The glass has that rainbow sheen often seen in very old glass and the shape of the glasses is slightly irregular. There is an obvious pontil mark at the bottom of the carafe. These are all hand painted exquisitely with a maroon/deep rose flower, green leaves, and gold detail over a frosted surface. This set is unique, heavy duty, and very elegant. These came to me from a central NY estate where the gentleman was an avid collector of fine vintage and antique pieces but I don't know the exact date on these. My best guess is turn of the century or just before. There is a mark that might be a crack running through one section of the face of the pitcher. It doesn't run all the way up and down and doesn't affect the structure of the piece. It’s also not rough feeling. It could just be an inconsistency from the hand blown process. Please use your own judgement. There is a surface type chip close to the rim on one glass. I only saw it when I looked close and saw the difference in the finish. The carafe and glasses look nice overall, especially since they are probably well over 100 years old. Please see pictures for condition detail. I refund shipping if it's less than estimated.
