Antique Vintage Wood Shaft Forgan St Andrews Smooth Putter

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 33 3/4" wood shaft putter. Made by George Nicoll of Leven Fife Scotland. Dashed face with nice off-set to it. The head is in good condition. Yes, it has the expected play nicks and dings but is not damaged. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. The shaft is straight, I see no cracks and it is tight at the hosel. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. Always re-set heads prior to play if it hasn't already been done. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
