It is made in slats and slides together, staying together only by the weight of the heavy topIt's about the size of a long guitar case, but heavier because it's made of solid woodThe benches have 4 dowels that hold them in place (2 under the benches, 2 connecting the benches to the legs). One dowel is missing and it doesn't make a difference in the bench staying in place (see closeup).No cracks or damage that we can find - just age wear on the finish of the wood, and some black paint marks on one of the benches. The wood could be stained or painted if desired.
