Description: This is a 10" Antique Wood Bowling/Game Pin. It came in a very old box with a number of antique toys/items.It is approximately 3" Wide at it's widest point. The hole in the bottom is approximately 1.75" deep and 0.5" in diameter. It weighs 14.6 ounces. This is the sort of thing that would look cool sitting in just about any room, and just begs to have a tall tale told about it. Bowling is one of the worlds oldest games, after all, and pins have been carved out of wood for most of the history of the game. Perhaps this came from an ad hoc bowling alley behind some old west saloon. Or perhaps it was used in a private club in Chicago during prohibition, and was kept as a souvenir by the tall, curvy, and dark haired bartender name Sylvia who liked to dress in men's clothes and didn't take any guff from her customers. Maybe that small crack in the wood happened when a drunk alderman got a little to gropy and she clocked him over the head with it, before he was quietly hustled out of the club by a bouncer named Sam who had a crush on Sylvia. Afraid of having an angry alderman send the police in on a raid, they had to abandon the speak easy and move it two blocks down, leaving the bowling alley behind. But Sylvia kept the pin as a reminder of her glory days. That, at least, is the story I was told. Buy it's probably only that.. a story. But just maybe...
