THE BLADE IS FILE-STEEL CARBON STEEL BLUED, THE TOP EDGE 4" IS SHARP, THE BOTTOM EDGE IS MORE LIKE A RAZOR BLADE, ALL 9" OF BLADE EDGE. IT IS FULL TANG CONSTRUCTION 1/4" THICK, YES THE BLADE IS A QUARTER OF AN INCH THICK WE HAVE NO OTHER KNIFE WITH A BLADE THIS THICK. AT THE HANDLE TO THE 4" CUT, THIS IS THE 1ST KNIFE I HAVE EVER SOLD WITH A 1/4" THICK SPINE. Even the extended tang is 1" long 1/4" THICK with a lanyard hole and shaped to break glass. The Blade is File-Steel also know as 1085 Carbon Steel a very strong alloy known for its tuff-ness it has been Heat-Treated , 1515c* - 1434c* Annealed, and Blued has great Durability and Edge Retention, there is no other alloy that can hold a better blade edge than this and the closest alloy to this would be 1095 carbon steel, trying to keep alloys you are familiar with, 1085 is stronger than 1095. My opinion of this knife is you'll love it I have no doubt what is there not to like. I can also tell you this is the strongest and largest Anza knife made and everyone we have sold the buyers have contacted us saying / thanking us for pointing them to this knife. There is nothing you can not do with this knife, it would be the best Camp knife, Survival knife, Combat, Protection you will ever have. The Handle is BLACK MICARTA the strongest man-made material used on a knife. Plus front and rear finger cuts so your hand can't slip.
