Description: Fantastic new ERROR of the USPS Eagle design on the Flag ATM stamp FROM THE NEW APC / SSK Machine! Please read the following closely, as it explains the uniqueness of what I'm offering with this lot: This lot includes:USPS Eagle overprint error on the old Flag stamp from August 28, 2018 (1st day from the new SSK machine)Barcode overprint error on the old Flag stamp from August 28, 2018 (1st day from the new SSK machine)Regular version old Flag stamp from August 27, 2018, the day before! (from the old SSK machine)Regular version of the barcode stamp on a Fold Here version from August 27, 2018, the day before! (from the old SSK machine) While similar overprints (with the USPS Eagle) have been offered in the past, the KEY DIFFERENCE is that this overprint error was done by one of the new SSK (APC) ATM machines. The regular version (from 8/27/18) is Scott #CVP91. Scott's does not list errors, technically, the overprint error would be considered an error of the CVP91b stamp. This particular machine was supposed to be using a new flag design label and yet was set-up to use the old flag design after the new machine was installed on August 28. Since this machine is of a new redesign it was apparently not set-up correctly and thus is printing the USPS Eagle design (which is supposed to be printed on plain labels, not pre-printed flag labels)! How can you tell that this was printed on one of the new machines? Simple - on the new machines, the human readable serial number now begins with a number, rather than a letter (which was usually A through G, followed by numbers) on the old machines. So, the combination of the old flag design, printed from a new APC/SSK machine AND with the Eagle overprint ERROR is offered for the first time by anyone (that I know of). If you'll notice, the overprint error stamps/labels have serial numbers that begin with 8807, that is the new machine identifier. Additionally, the barcode labels also print out the zip code of where the machine is located (in this case, 75025, the "Wildcat" station post office in Plano, TX). The old machines had serial numbers that began with a letter, in this case it was B231. As of late November 2018, all old machines had been replaced with new ones, so it is now no longer possible to get any sort of combinations like this! So how can we tie the old machine labels and the new machine labels to the same zip code location? Simple: both barcode labels have the zip code 75023 on them, and of course also the respective serial numbers: the first 4 characters are the machine identifier. The next 5 numbers identify the date bought in YMMDD format. So the "before conversion" stamps have 80827 (8/27/18) and the "after conversion" labels have 80828 (8/28/18). What you get is basically very difficult to duplicate: both error and regular versions of stamps & labels from the same zip code (75023) from both the day before the machine conversion and the day of the machine conversion. I only managed to buy a very limited number of these (I need some for my collection and exhibits), and have 2 spare copies to sell. If you are an advanced collector of the APC / ATM stamps, then this will be a very nice addition to your collection. --> Please note that if using the "ebay standard envelope" shipping option, that we are NOT allowed to use a stiffener, thus the envelope is not being protected from being folded or creased in the US Postal Service automated processing equipment or by the carrier. Thus, while "ebay standard envelope" is cheaper (and does provided tracking), I would personally rather ship via "USPS Ground Advantage" (which is fully tracked and insured), as that allows me to use heavy corrugated board stiffeners to more adequately protect your item while in transit.
