Description: Apollo 9 [March 3 - March 13, 1969] was the third human spaceflight in NASA's Apollo program and the first flight of the full Apollo spacecraft. The crew consisted of Commander James McDivitt, Command Module Pilot David Scott and Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart. The mission conducted numerous tests, but the main objective was to determine if the lunar module vehicle was operational for an attempt at a moon landing. The tests included decent and ascent operations and un-docking and docking to the command module. The mission was a complete success and paved the way for the historic Apollo 11 lunar landing mission. Listed for auction is an Apollo 9 commemorative cover signed by the complete crew. The cover has an attractive ink cachet of the Lunar Module during testing and is signed ''James G. McDivitt'' in green felt pen, ''Dave Scott'' in blue felt pen and ''Rusty Schweickart'' in blue pen. The cover is postmarked Cape Canaveral, FL, March 7, 1969, and is affixed with one U.S. postage stamp. The cover measures 6.50 x 3.50 inches and is in fine condition. The autographs are authentic, the cover is attractive and is ideal for display.
