Made by Yarará, in the Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina.New in the box, with guarantee card and instructions manual (in spanish, ask for a translation). Developed and built for the Regimiento de Infantería Mecanizado 8 (RI Mec 8) "General O'Higgins" (8th Mechanized Infantry Regiment "General O'Higgins") of the Argentine Army. This knife is named in honor of the heroic Private Antonio Ruiz, nicknamed "Negro (Black) Falucho", an Afro-descendant belonging to the Regiment 8, also named Regiment of "Libertos" (Freedmen), created in 1813 with slaves who were in the service of the families of Buenos Aires, freed in exchange for fighting for Independence.Private Ruiz "Falucho" and his Regiment 8 of the Argentine Army were in operations in Chile and Peru during the South American War of Independence, when hi was shot in 1823 during a mutiny of traitors in Lima, Republic of Peru, because he refused to pay honors to the Spanish flag and was shot inmidiately by the rebels. Today it is called Regimiento de Infantería Mecanizado 8 (RI Mec 8) "General O'Higgins" (8th Mechanized Infantry Regiment "General O'Higgins") Full tang dagger, with double concave edge. It has great penetration and cut, has a large 80mm / 3-1/8" false edge and a Spyderco type serrations on main edge for safety belt, or ropes or complementary use. It resembles the blade design of US M3 knife blade family (M3/M4/M5/M6 & M7 blades) as well as the blade of the FAL TYPE A bayonet. On the back it has a triangular butt type glass breaker with layard hole.On right ricazzo it is laser engraved with YARARA LOGO IND. ARGENTINA (Made in Argentina) and on same side of the blade it has FALUCHO laser engraved. The handguard has smal serrations to secure the fingers' grip, and two holes for survival use. Handle injected directly on the tang in black natural rubber with non-slip grip. The sheath is made of green polyester cordura with inner black EVA rubber sheets, sewed and reinforced with three robust steel rivets, it has a double adjustable elastic thigh strap for calf or belt mounting as needed, a low-ride wide belt loop that can be opened at back due to a Velcro closure (you can pass the belt or open the loop), and has a hilt strap secured to the loop with a steel rivet that close with Velcro and has an easy-to-grasp black plastic tip.
