Description: This unique bowl was created by the Jerusalem Old City Pottery studio. The studio was founded in 1964 by the Karakashian brothers. Their family was one of the founding families of the Armenian Ceramics movement in Jerusalem in 1919. The "H" mark on the bottom of this bowl is associated with Hagop Karasashian. He is known for the noticably purple hue in his blues and his use of motifs inspired by folklore and mythology. This serving bowl features a hand painted fish pattern in bold colors on both the interior and the exterior of the bowl. It is quite eye-catching. Diameter across top: 7" Diameter across foot: 3 1/2" Height: 3" No chips, cracks, or crazing. This bowl has been used and does have signs of wear. It does have a pimple in the bottom of the bowl.
