Description: This Armstrong Model 80 flute is in good condition and would be great for someone who is interested in an open hole flute! Serial number 3-4657 This flute has a silver headjoint in nice condition. There are some surface scratches on the lip plate that I think could be easily buffed out. I see only a couple very tiny pinpoint dents in the headjoint. The body is also sterling silver, and is also in nice condition. Besides the normal surface scratches and discoloration in hard-to-reach places that are common in used flutes, I don't see any major damage or dents. Please see pictures. The pads appear to be in fairly good condition, with some signs of aging such as darkening. The low C key does have a dent in it. It still seems to seal and plays through the scales quite easily all the way from high C to low C. The keys move freely. The hard case is in used condition with signs of use and age, such as damage to the surface (which does not affect its function), surface rust on the metal parts of the handle, and wear on the inside lining. The latches and handle still work well. The flute comes with a cleaning rod and 5 silicone plugs for the open holes. This flute has not been examined by a professional.
