Description: Antique Art Deco Tashiro Shoten Ltd Teapot. This is an fantastic Art Deco teapot made by Tashiro Shoten Ltd. The teapot features a beautiful Art Deco design with bold colors of green, blue ,yellow and orange. It is a small size for single service. It dates to 1920s-30s. The pottery mark is an elephant. This mark was used by Tashiro Shoten Ltd. The company had a shop in Yokohama, Japan and a porcelain factory in Nagoya, Japan. This mark was used prior to WWII . After the war the mark included the words “Made in Occupied Japan” until 1952. The company closed its doors in 1954. This piece is in great condition. There a couple of flea bites on the underside of the lid. There are no chips, cracks and little to no crazing. Measures 6.5 inches tall x 8 inches wide ( handle to spout)
