Though it did not make it onto a card in the "Pre-Imperial" release, it would later be used as the art for this mystic Clan Champion. He would later be revealed to be not only the original Kami, Togashi, but also an actual Dragon! This mysterious and powerful Clan Champion held many a mystery, and watched the world for millennia, while he waited for the moment to act. This exact card in the images is for sale. This card is signed in black ink by the artist Matthew D. Wilson. Matt holds a special place in the history of L5R, as the first concept artist and original art director of the game. He not only provided several pieces of art for the launch of the game, but also designed the original card backs and the card layouts. Matt has gone on to provide art for hundreds of cards across multiple CCGs, as well as for other games, and he co-founded the game company, Privateer Press, in 2000. Legend of the Five Rings launched at Gen Con 1995 and Imperial Edition was released through distribution later that same year. The CCG went on to more than 100 expansions over the course of 20 years, and fans of the game became enthralled by the story that they themselves could help direct by winning tournaments. The setting, Rokugan, is still alive and well today in the form of many other books and games. Since artists have always been such an integral part of CCGs, I want more people to have access to cards signed by the artists that made the game possible.
