Asterix and the Big Fight Vol 7 Paperback TPB/Graphic Novel Hodder-Dargaud

Description: For sale today is a rare and out-of-print (oop) oversized trade paperback (TPB)/graphic novel from the classic Asterix series by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. It is published by Hodder-Dargaud, and is the alternate/variant cover edition. When Dargaud originally published the volumes, they were out of order - but I listed the original book # below just in case. **Asterix and The Big Fight (Volume 7/Book 9) (1985)The Romans conspire with a Roman-friendly Gaulish village to declare a ritual winner-takes-all fight between village chiefs. A blow from one of Obelix's menhirs causes Getafix to lose his memory, leaving the Gauls without magic potion. The fight parodies professional boxing. I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in good overall condition considering its age, with a solid spine and very good/easily legible overall inside pages with light signs of natural yellowing (photo#16 example). It does have some cover creases/indents around it, although most of its flaws are lighter and severity and affecting its externals, and all detailed below. **Photo#3:-Spine edge: 5 small indents around it, they show on the adjacent back cover as light indents. Light vertical crease/bend spanning the height of the book near the spine (photo#10 w/illumination). **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Light scuffing. **Photo#5: -Lower spine corner: Ding at the corner, causes a small tear on the edge, a ~3/4" crease around the corner on the front cover, and an adjacent ~1.5" crease on the back cover. **Photo#6: -Front cover top edge: ~1/2" scuff/indent near its middle, otherwise light levels of shelf-wear/scuffing.-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend/cover peel. **Photo#7:-Front cover bottom edge: ~1" scuff/indent near its middle, otherwise light levels of shelf-wear/scuffing.-Outer corner: Small crease/scuff/bend/cover peel, goes thru ~1/3 pages as an indent/bend. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: ~1/2" scuff/indent near its middle, otherwise light levels of shelf-wear/scuffing.-Outer corner: ~1/2" light crease/scuff/bend, goes thru most pages as a light bend. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: ~1/2" adjacent crease/depression near the spine corner, otherwise light levels of shelf-wear/scuffing.-Outer corner: Small crease/scuff/bend, goes thru ~5 pages as a corner fold, and ~2/3 pages as a light bend. **Additionally: Front cover possesses two ~2" crease/indent/depressions around its lower half, with ~seven small-to~1" lighter ones around (all in photos#11,12 w/illumination). Five more around the upper half, with some indenting/scratching from being written on top of around its center (photo#13 w/illumination). Small price sticker residue near the top outer corner (might come off, I prefer not to mess with them). Back cover has two ~2" lines of tiny dings/depressions around its center (photo#14 w/illumination, 1 shows lightly on ~5 pages), light ~3" and ~3.5" scratches/indents around its upper half, and five small-to~1" indents/creases/depressions around its lower half (photo#15 w/illumination). Inside pages have some light natural yellowing around their peripherals mostly from time. The latter few pages have some tiny age stains around their bottom edge margins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit.
