Description: This antique postcard is hand drawn in pen and ink. It shows a mean kneeling with his face in hands. In the background, we see a castle rising high above the canopy of a forest. Closer, we see some willow branches, A woman in a hoop skirt can be seen beneath one of the trees. At the bottom of the card is a musical passage in A flat minor that says in Czech "The Petrine Side, the Petrine side." (This phrase refers to the premise that Jesus appointed Peter to lead the church, foundational to Roman Catholicism.) The drawing is beautifully detailed. It is postmarked and was sent from the Czechia to Vienna. It was cut to a non-standard size, 3.75 x 5.25 inches. This card will be carefully shipped in a rigid top loader inside a rigid mailer. It's a special piece of folk art that deserves to be treasured.
