Description: Antique Heisey Biscuit Jar 1235 (OMN) Beaded Panel and Sunburst 1897 EAPG UV Glow This is an Antique Heisey Clear Biscuit / Cracker Jar in the 1235 (OMN) Pattern. This Pattern is also called Beaded Panel and Sunburst, or Heisey’s Chrysanthemum. It was introduced in 1897 making it Antique. We did place it under a 365-wavelength black light and it does have a Green Manganese Glow. Some of my pictures show this glow. This is attributed to some EAPG made prior to 1915 when Manganese was used as a clarifying agent in clear glass. (This will not glow under a 395-wavelength blacklight. It is not uranium glass.) The Biscuit Jar is about 127 years old and it is in Great Antique Condition. There is some roughness on the inside edge of the rim. There is also a small inclusion in the glass near the rim that appears to have occurred during manufacturing. (This is EAPG Glass. We like to mention that if there are any straw marks or bubbles, these are attributed to the EAPG manufacturing process and are not considered flaws.) The Biscuit Jar measures approximately 9” tall, and 6” wide. It weighs a little under 4lbs. Please see pictures for the details. Please magnify the pictures as they are part of the description. Please ask all questions before purchasing the item.
