Description: Antique Ripley and Company Pitcher Dakota OMN Etched Bird Cattails Reeds 1885 EAPG UV Glow 12” This is a Rare Antique Ripley and Company Clear Pitcher in the Dakota (OMN) Pattern. This Pattern is also called Baby Thumbprint. The Pitcher is Etched with a Bird holding a Fish in its mouth, Reeds and Cattails. I have not seen other pitchers with this etching. The Pattern was introduced in 1891 making it Antique. We did place it under a 365-wavelength blacklight and it does have a Green Manganese Glow. This is attributed to some EAPG produced prior to 1915 when Manganese was used as a clarifying agent. Some of my pictures show this Green Glow. (This will not glow under a 395-wavelength blacklight; it is not Uranium Glass.) The Pitcher is in Excellent Condition. (Bubbles, seams and straw marks are attributed to the EAPG manufacturing process and are not considered flaws.) It measures approximately 12” tall to the top of its spout, 7” from spout to the end of the handle at this widest point, and 5” across the base. It is a heavy pitcher. It weights a little under 4lbs. Please magnify the pictures for the details. They are part of the description.
