These Etruscan Revival Victorian earrings are in great shape as I found them at my well trusted antique dealer in LA. I studied them carefully and I believe that originally they had a different way of hanging on the ears. Long time passed since then!They stay safe on the ears and look fabulous. Make sure that the ear wires go exactly into the lever backs that hold them safe.The gold has a patina of age that I did not want to remove because is charming and accentuates the intricate details of the gold work, especially the granulation and the very fine twisted gold rope embellishing the face of the earrings, top and bottom.Measurements from top to bottom are: 40 mm long x 18 mm wide x 7 mm thickest part.Weight is 11.52 grams of 14K gold, marked 14K, acid tested.Diameter of the amethyst cabochon is 8 mm. The amethyst has a deeper color in pictures than in real life.
