Description: Up for sale is a tested-but-never used Audix i5 microphone, which we really don’t need and are selling to make space in our mic drawer for another microphone. Here’s what the manufacturer says about this microphone:Designed with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control, the i5 all-purpose dynamic instrument microphone is equipped with a VLM™ diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. The i5 is used for stage, studio, and broadcast applications and is able to handle SPLs in excess of 140 dB without distortion. The i5 cardioid microphone can be used to microphone a wide variety of musical instruments, guitars, and bass cabinets as well as vocals and speech. The i5 instrument microphone is sturdy, compact, and easy to position. With a wide frequency response of 50 Hz – 16 kHz, the i5 provides clear sound reproduction without having to rely on EQ. Designed, assembled, and tested by Audix in the USA.Audix originally marketed this general-purpose instrument microphone to work better than the popular, industry-standard instrument, which has long been the go-to standard for snare and guitar cabinet miking. In our opinion, their claim is accurate, depending on your wants and needs. When put head-to-head with the industry-standard microphone on most any source, the i5 will sound clearer, crisper, but a bit thinner. Typically, that’s what you want for most applications and with the i5, you don’t need a lot of EQ to scoop out the low-mid much which characterizes the industry-standard instrument microphone. The Audix i5 does this for you, and in fact, that’s the design philosophy behind almost all of their purpose-built microphones, including their range of drum microphones. You can pretty much stick the recommended Audix microphone on any source and it will sound good, without having to spend a lot of time and effort dialing in radical EQ settings. The i5 is definitely worthy of being included in your microphone locker, even if you typically rely on the industry-standard microphone for most applications. It’s very decent and will get you amazing results on many sources. We’re shipping this microphone in the original box with a stand clip. We no longer have the Audix pouch, so it will come with a new Shure pouch.Shipping- Click on the shipping tab to see which shipping option gives you the best rate or service for your location. We only ship to U.S. addresses but when available, we will ship internationally through the Global Shipping Program.Returns- We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and our feedback reflects our commitment to honesty, integrity, and outstanding service.
