With the coming of the Great Depression in 1929 America became more receptive to ideas from the political Left and New Masses became highly influential in intellectual circles. A substantial number of poems, short stories, journalistic pieces, and political cartoons dominate its pages. Measures 9.25" x 12.25" Mildly yellowed at edges, light vertical crease with mild general wear to covers which photos will show. The last 6 pages or so have small corner creases upper right.
