Description: An Austrian-Hungarian orientalism pendant sautoir with turquoises. This beautiful and extraordinary pendant necklace-sautoir is one of the best example we have ever seen of Austrian-Hungarian empire jewelry. It was crafted in the turn of the century circa 1900-1910, with orientalism patterns in solid silver with remains of the original 18 karats gilding. This piece is very rare and unusual, because the motifs and the exuberant large size. It is extremely well realized and is richly decorated, displaying in the center an enthroned seated Buddha, which is surrounded by three-hundred-forty natural gemstones. The pendant hang from an oval ring and is displayed in a station chain with same motifs. It is fitted with a security concealed push lock. Turquoises: Mounted in bezel settings, with 31 mixed cabochon cuts carved from natural greenish-blue turquoises with a combined weight of about 42 carats. Turquoise: Mount in the center with, 1 turquoise carved in the shape of a seated Buddha with a weight of about 55 carats.
