Description: Rare Soviet Wings poster autographed by legendary Russian ice hockey player and coach Igor Dmitriev (19 October 1941 – 21 December, 1997). Dimitriev began his career with the Krylya Sovetov Moscow junior team in 1955 before joining the senior team in 1958. Dimitriev scored 125 goals in 430 games with Krylya Sovetov Moscow and captained the team to both the Soviet Championship League and Soviet Cup titles in 1974. His coaching career began in 1978 as an assistant coach for Krylya Sovetov Moscow - he was promoted to head coach in 1983 and served in that role until 1996. He was also a coach for the Soviet National Team from 1987-92 and coached the Russian junior national team in 1996-97, winning a gold medal with the Soviet national team at the 1988 Winter Olympics, gold medals at the 1989 and 1990 Ice Hockey Championships, and a bronze medal at the 1996 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Dimitriev was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974 as a player, and in 1988 as a builder. He was also posthumously inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame as a builder in 2007. Obtained directly from Mr. Dimitriev in the early 1990s. Poster is in excellent condition with one small Imperceptible tear (see photos) which has been professionally repaired on poster back with non-acid repair tape.
