Description: AVEM Murano Bizantino Tutti-Frutti Ruby Art Glass Vase Label Vintage 10"+: Jewel! This is a rare large Bizantino (tutti-frutti) art glass vase, probably by Fuga;his design anyway. It has all the special effects in layers on a gorgeous translucent emerald green body. Has concentric rows of gold filaments in the ruffled neck.Retains the export label used by AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese), a bit rough around the edges. Also has as the first layer the metallic near-black speckles favored by Fuga, as well as characteristic puddles or islands of both gold and dark ruby glass. Lights up wonderfully well! I've taken lots of pix to show the diversity of the effects which in this example come together harmoniously. This is a vase; maybe for ship use. Too heavy to use as a carafe comfortably. Base is all but a big paperweight. Has fine techniques and myriad special effects; interesting and different from every angle! I have two green ones, one has a longer neck and is therefore taller. They would still work as a superb pair on a deep mantle, etc. At least from the 1970s; may be older.It is about 10.25"h and the base is about 6.5"w.
