OLGA In 1913, Russia celebrated the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. Anticipating this event, in January, the Society of St. Olga proposed to establish an order named after the ancient Russian princess, canonized as a saint. By that time, a circle of patriotic women had already formed, who led a serious public work, were engaged in charitable activities and had a noticeable weight in society. And the only female order - the order of St. Catherine, was awarded extremely rarely and only to ladies of high society. On July 11, 1915, the Statute was signed, in which the award was named the Badge of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga. The first and only cavalier of this order was V.N. Panaeva. The insignia of St. Olga 3rd degree was awarded her in 1916. This award has never been given to anyone else. A copy of the order was made according to the surviving sketches.
