Description: Bavaria Edelstein Set of 3 Trios Cup Saucer Dessert Plate 1929-1972 Aurora Gold Exquisite Decorative ELEGANT COVERED CASSEROLE, from Kups, Bavaria Edelstein Porcelain Factory, CANTERBURY Pattern #19637, WHITE w/GOLD Trim on Handles & Rims, circa 1929-1972 DESCRIPTION: The beautiful elegant covered vegetable bowl was decorated by the Edelstein Porcelain Factory studio using the gold on white color palette. The trim on the handles is solid gold with the rims having a bold gold trim line & the bottom of the pedestal having a narrow gold line following the embossing. This casserole is on the Maria Theresia mold in the Canterbury pattern #19637. This is so classy! CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. The only wear on the gold in very minor scratching on the very top of the lid's handle. This is so minor that I could not catch it in a photo. See the photos. DIMENSIONS: The casserole has diameter of 8 1/4" and a height of 4 1/4". The measurement handle to handle is 10 3/4" and the measurement to the top of the lid in place is 6 3/4". It has a capacity of 8 cups. HISTORY/MARKS: In the time period, 1879-1882 in Kups, Bavaria, Germany, Friedrich Wunder began a porcelain decorating shop eventually converting into a porcelain production factory. Wenck and Zitzmann purchased the business running it from 1882-1890. Ohnemuller & Ulrich took over renaming it the Upper Franconian Porcelain Factory in 1890. It was renamed Edelstein Porcelain Factory in 1919 after being purchased by J. Edelstein. The Edelstein mark on the back of these items was used from 1929-1972 according to Robert E. Rontgen’s Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present (mark #3138). Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
