Description: Beautiful antique Art Deco Uncas Mfg. ornate sterling silver faceted octagonal pink stone and marcasite ring, size 5 1/2, sizable. This ring is really lovely. It is almost one inch long by 5/8” wide and weighs 4.5 grams. It is set with a pretty, faceted pink stone in an octagonal bezel setting and has a plethora of faceted little marcasites set in a layered fashion across the top of the ring giving this ring a LOT of sparkle. The pink stone has a chip on one corner and abrasions, but this is only apparent on close examination. This is a particularly lovely antique ring. This style of ring was often set with a glass or man made stone and many of these did not survive. This ring is in really nice condition aside from the abrasions and two missing marcasites which, also, are hard to see. This ring is a stand-out in its original condition and would be priced at double if the center stone were undamaged. Uncas Manufacturing was started in 1911 by an Italian immigrant, Vincent Sorrentino. Their antique rings are still quite sought after. This ring is stamped with their figural mark of a “U” with an arrow through it and “Sterling”.
