Description: Beautiful Antique Coromandel Writing Slope with Bramah Lock & Original Inkwells. Fantastic Original Condition This rare and beautiful Coromandel Veneered Writing Slope has a warmth and depth of colour that is absolutely unique. The Bramah lock has been carefully inspected and is in complete working order, with all sliders in place and original key. The box opens to reveal an original deep blue leather skiver with ornate gold scroll toolwork. Two accompanying inkwells are sited to either side of a pen-tray infront of the Bramah lock. A concealment panel below the adjacent smaller writing board hides two small ebony veneered draws - which may have been used to store valuables or private correspondence. The panel is not spring released: but the mechanism is in good working order. The inkwells are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks; and open and close on turned screw lids. Two working brass bolts retain the larger writing board in position. I believe the cartouche plate reads SAMG There is a slight scuff to the left hand side on the front, which has been untouched. The original patina and colour are excellent Dimensions: 35.5cm (W) x 25.5cm (D) x 15cm (H) Any questions please ask
