Description: Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful antique gouache still life painting depicting a compote of multi color and variety flowers along with hardback books and a blue drape. This painting dates to the early to mid 1900's and is signed in the lower right corner "Zada V. Mathews". The work is partially colored / painted in with gouache while the rest in pencil and or some pastel. The painting measures 11.5 x 14.75 inches while the original green and silver wood frame measures 14.5 x 17.75 inches. The condition is good showing some possible spotting in the upper portion and the frame shows cosmetic blemish / discoloration. It is a beautiful painting and one of two matching works that I currently have by this artist.
