Description: Maker and age: On the reverse of this beautiful small platter are two back stamps: the red decorator's mark number 3 (1900-1941) of the iconic Limoges maker Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbott, or GDA - the firm begun by the legendary Charles Field Haviland - and the GDA white ware back stamp number 1 (1900-1941). Pattern: In keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company's porcelain so famous, and so coveted, the platter is beautifully hand painted with delicate pink roses and tiny green leaves, trimmed in gold. Many of the great Limoges companies produced variations of the classic and hugely popular pattern of pink roses against a pure white background. That means this platter would easily blend into similar sets by many other Limoges makers. And of course, it would make a beautiful display on its own. Size: The platter is 7 7/8 inches wide and 11 1/8 inches long. Condition: The platter is in excellent overall condition for its age with no chips, cracks, stains, repairs, scratches or crazing. There are a few minor utensil marks that can be seen in bright light and some wear to the gold trim - an example is shown in the photo with the penny. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
