Founded in 1916 by the architects Charles Peter Weeks and William Peyton Day, the San Francisco architectural firm Weeks and Day was responsible for many iconic buildings throughout California. Paris-educated Weeks was responsible for the design of the buildings, while Day was the engineer, and until Weeks' death in 1928, the two created some of the most recognizable theaters and apartment buildings such as the Fox Oakland Theatre and the Huntington Apartments, now known as the Huntington Hotel in San Francisco. This booklet is a celebration of the decorative ironwork in the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, and features photographs of entryways, railings, and windows in the hotel. This booklet is very uncommon, with only 3 copies in holdings according to OCLC, and just one auction result on record.
