Description: Used - Like New Original packaging Story In 1968, the RhB ordered the two dual-powered Gem 4/4 801-802 locomotives as a reserve independent of the overhead wire and for snow clearing trains. On the Bernina Railway, they can be operated electrically under the overhead wire or - on the main network - driven by two diesel engines. Many of the components were taken from the ABe 4/4 41-49 railcars built in 1964-1965. They bore the main load of operations on the Bernina until the ABe 4/4 51-53 were purchased in 1988 and 54-56 in 1990. This item has been in storage for at least 20 years and may show signs of box wear accordingly. The item was removed from the box long enough to take the pictures you see and then immediately repackaged. This may be the only time it was ever removed from the box.
